Rainbow Crossing Unveiled in London in Time for Pride

London has officially unveiled a rainbow crossing just in time for this year’s London Pride Parade. The zebra crossing, which is only temporary is placed at the crossing of Pall Mall east and Suffolk Street.

It was unveiled this morning at 11:45am by Conservative MP Mike Free who had petitioned for London to receive its own after seeing one in Tel Aviv.

It is the second rainbow crossing to be placed in the UK. The first was revealed in Brighton earlier this month by Heather Peace. It was only temporary and has since been removed in spite of calls to make the crossing a permanent fixtures.

Transport for London, the Highways Department, and Mayor of London Boris Johnson, have given the crossing a special temporary approval.

The crossings have been erected in Toronto, Shanghai and Los Angeles.
